Help wanted: Lenoir County Landfill/Solid Waste

RECYCLING SITE ATTENDANT (PART-TIME) - Hourly Rate range: $10.00 - $11.00

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The primary purpose of this position is to provide responsible oversight of the recycling areas for public deposit and collection.

KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge regarding the location of every recycling center within Lenoir County. Must have the ability to safely and efficiently operate all equipment used in operation of a recycling center. Ability to work independently.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Must be able to perform exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. The employee is subject to working in outside environments, extreme temperatures and weather.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from High School. Experience in solid waste convenient sites equipment operation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid North Carolina driver’s license is required.
