Obituary: William (Bill) Smith

William (Bill) Smith, 88, of Kinston passed away December 30, 2022, after battling respiratory issues for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Pearl Faircloth Smith; sister, Ann Marie Kennedy; brother, Larry Smith; and brother-in-law, George Wolfskeil.

Bill spent 37 years with Dupont as an Instrument Mechanic and served 42 years in the National Guard. He was active in many roles at First Presbyterian Church. He loved his wife and family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids.

He is survived by Clara Bradshaw Smith, his wife of 67 years; sons, Wayne Smith (Tina) and Brian Smith (Debbie); grandchildren, Tyler Smith (Kara), Phillip Smith (Melania), Chad Smith (Audrey), Danielle Smith; great-grandchildren, Harrison, Eva, Jordyn, Jared, Payton, and Jayden; sister, Bertha Wolfskeil; special friends, Bob and Rosa Lanier.

Special thanks to 3HC, Home Health and hospice for the wonderful service, care and love they shared. Blaire, Gwen and Ms. Annie were truly angels sent from heaven.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 7, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church, 2101 N. Herritage Street, Kinston, NC 28501.
