National Apprenticeship Week kicked off at Lenoir Community College
National Apprenticeship Week kicked off at the Lenoir Community College Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing Center on Monday, Nov. 13, during the AAMC Speaker Spotlight on Apprenticeship. Students and Facebook Live viewers learned about Apprenticeship and its benefits from Dawn Kantz as well as different apprenticeship viewpoints from the panel of guest speakers. Members of the panel included LCC student Gavin Pittman, who discussed the great opportunity of being an apprentice at Crown Equipment; Amy Jones of Lenoir County Schools, shared about their pre-apprenticeship program with Crown Equipment in which the next enrollment period is in January; Paul Boggs of Winterville Metal informed the group about apprenticeship opportunities with his company; and finally, Stephen Edwards of FRC East introduced everyone to the Federal Pathways Internship at Cherry Point MCAS. For more information about apprenticeships, contact Dawn Kantz at 252-233-6835 or dkkantz79@lenoircc.edu
