Preparations are in full swing and Lenoir County 4-H is excited to bring Embryology curriculum into 25 classrooms in Lenoir County this year.
Incubators will be set up in each classroom and filled with chicken eggs. During the 21-day egg incubation period, youth will be taught age appropriate and peer reviewed education about chickens and the process of hatching eggs. The students will be encouraged to learn by doing and hands-on activities will be frequent. They will also be responsible for helping their teacher care for the eggs during their days in class. I hope they are excited to see the chicks hatch after all their hard work and that they enjoy learning about agriculture in a fun and exciting way.
Participating schools include LaGrange Elementary, Banks Elementary, Pink Hill Elementary, Bethel Christian Academy, Arendell Parrott Academy, Hope Preparatory School, Northeast Elementary, Southeast Elementary, Contentnea Savannah School, Rochelle Middle School, Northwest Elementary, North Lenoir High School, and Frink Middle School.
Please like our Facebook page "Lenoir County 4-H" to receive program updates. Youth are invited to participate in our workshops, summer camps and clubs! We would love to have your child join us!
