Preparations are in full swing and Lenoir County 4-H is excited to bring Embryology curriculum into 25 classrooms in Lenoir County this year.
Treasurer Dale R. Folwell, CPA, will be in Kinston on Tuesday, Dec. 12, to return missing funds to Lenoir County 4-H. 4-H is the largest youth development organization in North Carolina, helping to educate the next generation of leaders and equipping them with the skills to succeed, according to its website.
NC Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Lenoir County announce the certification of ten Junior Master Gardeners (JMG). The JMGs completed classroom and individual activities, participated in leader/community service projects while learning all about plants, gardening techniques, landscape design, composting, soil and water, recycling, insects and career exploration and life skills.
We are so EXCITED to announce that the 2022 4-H Down East Dairy Project will begin August 7th! Registration will open for youth that have NEVER done the project on July 8th at 8 AM. All others will be able to register July 9th. There is a max of 50 participants.
We are so very proud of our 4-H Presentation participants at District Activity Day this past Friday! 4-H’ers worked hard on their presentations and competed against other 4-H’ers in the Southeast District at Lenoir at Lenoir Community College.
King’s Mountain native Abbigail Barber is the new 4-H and Youth Development Agent. She graduated from NC State with a Bachelor of Science and a double major in Animal Science and Science Technology Studies. She has lived in the area for about three years now.
For National 4-H Week this year Martin County 4-H’ers collected pet supplies to donate to areas hit by Hurricane Florence.
Today beginning at 10:00 AM there will be a collection point at the market for new or gently used toys, books and games to be given to the children at the LCC shelter for flood victims.
