Vehicle stop leads to multiple drug charges

A man was arrested late last week by Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office patrol units on multiple drug charges.

James Scott Boone’s vehicle was stopped by patrol units on A-Shift on Friday, May 26, due to a motor vehicle registration violation. After the officers gained consent to search the vehicle, they located methamphetamine, a Schedule VI controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

During the traffic stop, officers also discovered Boone had an outstanding warrant for arrest. Boone was placed in custody for the narcotics and warrant.

Boone was transported to the Lenoir County Magistrates Office and processed for the warrant. Additionally, he was charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine, possession of Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He received a secured bond for the warrant and new charges.
