RALEIGH: Governor Roy Cooper signed four bills into law:
House Bill 116: Modify Laws Affecting District Attorneys.
AN ACT TO MODIFY VARIOUS STATUTORY PROVISIONS AFFECTING DISTRICT ATTORNEYS AND DISTRICT ATTORNEYS' OFFICES.
Senate Bill 100: Authorize Haw River State Trail.
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE HAW RIVER STATE TRAIL AND TO PROVIDE FOR ITS ADDITION TO THE STATE PARKS SYSTEM.
House Bill 412: Modify Property Transfer to Pender County.
AN ACT TO MODIFY THE TERMS OF CONVEYANCE OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND TO PENDER COUNTY TO ENABLE CERTAIN FINANCING OPTIONS NEEDED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A JAIL FACILITY.
House Bill 346: Reorganization & Economic Development Act.
AN ACT TO ESTABLISH A PROCEDURE FOR A HOSPITAL SERVICE CORPORATION TO REORGANIZE BY CREATING A NONPROFIT HOLDING CORPORATION.
Governor Cooper made the following statement on HB 346:
"Our goal is comprehensive health insurance with access to care in every county of our state at the most affordable cost possible, and this legislation with consumer protections in place aims to keep the company strong while continuing its commitment to its North Carolina home."
