La Grange man arrested twice in one weekend on drug, firearm charges
A La Grange man attempting to flee a Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office checkpoint on Sunday was arrested not once, but twice on several drug and firearm charges.
A vehicle driven by Scott Michael Dryden of La Grange was stopped Sunday when he was spotted attempting to avoid an LCSO checkpoint in the 4600 block of Aldridge Store Road in La Grange.
A DWI investigation was conducted, during which probable cause was established to search Dryden’s vehicle. During the search, deputies located a concealed firearm, 7.3 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 55.3 grams of marijuana, 22.8 grams of hashish, Schedule II narcotic
pills and drug paraphernalia. A concealed firearm, a firearm suppressor and an open alcoholic container were also located during the search.
Dryden was arrested Sunday for:
· maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance sells
· possession with intent to sell or deliver Schedule I controlled substance
· possession with intent to sell or deliver Schedule VI controlled substance
· possession of Schedule II controlled substance
· possession of drug paraphernalia
· possession of marijuana paraphernalia
· possession of a concealed firearm
· open container
Deputies on A-Shift continued the investigation into Dryden and established probable cause to search a residential property in the 4800 block of Aldridge Store Road. They executed a search warrant on the residence in the early morning hours of Monday.
During the search, deputies located 1,278.4 grams of marijuana in 16 individual bags or containers, two firearms with homemade suppressors, $1,250 in cash, cocaine paraphernalia and marijuana paraphernalia.
After making bond for the Sunday charges, Dryden went to the residence on the 4800 block of Aldridge Store Road on Monday, where he was arrested for:
· maintaining a place for controlled substance sells
· possession with intent to sell or deliver Schedule VI controlled substance
· felony possession of Schedule IV controlled substance
· possession of drug paraphernalia
· possession of marijuana paraphernalia
Dryden reeived a secured bond for all charges in both arrests.
