Addressing a growing need for increased fuel capacity, the North Carolina Global TransPark Authority (NCGTP) and Kinston Regional Airport (ISO) have begun construction on a new fuel farm. The existing facility, dating back to the '50s, currently supplies 60,000 gallons but has been unable to meet daily demands.
Funded by the NC General Assembly, the new 500,000-gallon fuel farm is being built to unified facilities criteria (UFC) and Department of Defense (DOD) specifications. Construction began in June 2023, with anticipated completion by February 2024.
Located adjacent to the TransPark's 11,500 ft runway, the new facility will enable the airport to support existing and future military fuel sales. Once completed, the NCGTP/ISO will own the fuel farm, with maintenance and operation by the Kinston Jet Center. The project reflects the GTP's ongoing commitment to infrastructure development to serve current and future aerospace industries in North Carolina.
