As a member of the Lenoir County Government Tax Department, you can make a difference! The Tax Department is seeking candidates for a Real Property Appraiser. Candidates work involves performing field and office research work for appraising residential real estate for ad valorem tax purposes. Candidates for employment must be comfortable with heavy public contact with property owners, contractors, and builders to discuss construction, grade of materials, quality of workmanship, and other related appraisal data. Employees in this classification must use considerable tact, courtesy, analysis, judgement and initiative.

Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent; one year experience in real estate or coursework in real estate.
• Ability to obtain certification from the N.C. Department of Revenue as a Real Property Appraiser within 18 months.
• Possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
• Pass a criminal background check.

Hiring Range: $40,322.66-$61,355.70
