Lenoir County Schools responds swiftly to school safety concerns

Lenoir County Public Schools posted the following on their Facebook page:

Lenoir County Public Schools was among several school districts across the state to receive via email today an anonymous, non-specific threat to school safety. Notified immediately by LCPS, local law enforcement began an investigation and, out of an abundance of caution, dispatched additional personnel to our schools to conduct walk-throughs. It was determined the email message did not constitute a credible threat. LCPS would like to thank the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office, the Kinston Police Department, and the State Bureau of Investigation for their quick response and consistently strong support of our school system.
