As you may know, Congress continues to negotiate to responsibly fund our government and secure our border. House Republicans are determined to rein in reckless and wasteful spending of your taxpayer dollars. Likewise, we are committed to fighting for a secure border that prevents dangerous individuals, illicit substances, and weapons from pouring into our country.
In addition to my advocacy in Washington to restore common sense policies that enable America to thrive, I hosted a vibrant conference in Greenville to discuss waterway challenges and flood mitigation in North Carolina. The event welcomed over 200 public officials, field experts, and stakeholders, breaking the previous attendance record.
It is an honor to continue serving you and being a strong voice in Washington for common sense and a fighter for our values and way of life.

Standing up for Access to Care for Medicare Patients
Last week, I led a bipartisan coalition opposing the 3.37% cut to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule on the House floor. The resounding, bipartisan message heard was that access for Medicare patients is being destroyed.
On January 1, 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) implemented a rule that would decrease Medicare reimbursement for physician services by 3.37%. Compounded with CMS’ own estimates of a projected 4.6% increase in practice cost expenses this year, physicians are facing an 8% cut unless Congress acts.
It’s estimated that more than 83 million people in the U.S. currently live in areas without sufficient access to a Primary Care Physician. Since 2001, physicians who see Medicare patients have already seen their reimbursements decline by over 26% when adjusted for inflation. With the country already experiencing a severe doctor shortage, this will further accelerate retirements and burnout, especially for surgeons.
My bill, the Preserving Seniors' Access to Physicians Act, is a bipartisan measure that addresses the full Medicare Physician Fee Schedule cuts and protect care access for our seniors.

Condemning Biden's Open Border Policies and Safety Crisis
Students have been forced into remote learning, and the elderly have been pushed out of assisted living centers to make room for migrants coming over our borders illegally. We are dealing with a crisis at our border, and American citizens are being put last.
In December 2023, CBP recorded the most illegal immigrants in a single month in DHS history with more than 302,000 individuals encountered. The Biden Administration owns this crisis that has led to record numbers of migrant encounters, known gotaways, individuals on the terrorist watchlist, and sheer amount of fentanyl seized at our borders.
I voted YES to H. Res. 957 to condemn President Biden's negligent open border policies and urge him to act.
Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act
The Biden Administration is waging a war on pregnancy centers across the country by redirecting funds and supporting abortion clinics.
If being pro-choice is about empowering women, why restrict pregnant mothers from receiving help or considering choosing life? Protecting women should not be a partisan issue. Why not allow those with an unwanted pregnancy to give birth to her child and infertile couples to provide a loving home to a welcomed child.
I voted YES to protect the unborn and oppose its extreme, pro-abortion agenda.
Pregnant Students’ Rights Act
Carrying a precious child while in college is extremely difficult. Worse yet, pregnant women experience having opportunities taken away or encounter painful judgment on campus by students and professors.
We must ensure pregnant women in college are aware of their rights and the resources and accommodations available to them. Bearing a child is a gift, and expecting mothers should not feel compelled to seek an abortion out of fear or lack of options.
I voted YES to support pregnant women’s rights at universities:
National Association of Manufacturers
I met with representatives from the National Association of Manufacturers to discuss how Congress can protect our manufacturers, farmers and businesses and promote their growth here in the United States.
A strong American economy begins with businesses here at home.
