Arrest Made in Greene County teen's homicide case

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office posted the following on their Facebook page:

*****HOMICIDE CASE ARREST*****

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office and NC SBI make an arrest in the murder of 17-year-old William “Anthony” Devon Williams Jr.

On 01/30/2024 around 8:00 pm Greene County Deputies and NC SBI took 20-year-old Ja’wan Ja’von Dodd, of Snow Hill, into custody without incident at his home. Thanks to several tips submitted by the public, Investigators were able to conduct interviews that lead to the arrest. Dodd has been charged with an open count of murder and is currently being held in the Greene County Detention Center under no bond. The case along with details such as motive, are still under investigation and the Sheriff’s Office will update as more details can be given.

Sheriff Sasser would like to thank the public for their assistance, as well as all of the hard work put in by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and the NC SBI so far in the case.
