Two juveniles to be taken into custody for breaking and entering
Two juveniles have been identified and will be soon taken into custody for breaking and entering and committing larceny at a La Grange business last week.
On Tuesday, Oct. 15, Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a breaking and entering that was in progress at the Lions Tobacco and Vape Shop at 304 W. Washington Street. Witnesses gave details of the incident to deputies, who canvassed the area for additional information.
A day later, the LCSO’s Investigation Division obtained surveillance footage from the victim and surrounding businesses. While that investigation was being conducted, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office responded to a possible overdose not far from the Lenoir County border. WCSO investigators found unopened packages matching items stolen from Lions Tobacco and Vape Shop.
Combined with the WCSO information, LCSO investigators made a positive identification of those who committed the Oct. 15 crime.
The suspects — a 14-year-old and a 13-year-old — and their vehicle were identified, along with the stolen items, which were recovered and returned to the business. The juveniles were from the Wayne County portion of La Grange and Seven Springs.
Juvenile petitions will be authored for the pair with the following charges:
· Felony conspiracy
· Felony breaking and entering
· Felony larceny after breaking and entering
· Felony possession of stolen goods
The petitions have not yet been served for the juveniles.
