KPD Officers Arrest Stolen Vehicle Suspect After Pursuit

On Sunday, November 17, 2024, at approximately 6:00 a.m., KPD's D-Squad officers attempted to initiate a vehicle stop on Highway 70. The driver of the vehicle, sped away as officers made their approach. The pursuit ensued when the suspect drove over a ditch and fled on foot near Lenoir Community College.

Officers continued their pursuit and with the assistance of KPD’s K9 unit, Loki, the suspect was successfully apprehended.

Upon investigation, officers learned the vehicle was stolen from Lenoir County.

The driver, identified as 45-year-old Eldon Graham of Kinston, was arrested and charged with Felony Flee to Elude, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Resisting a Public Officer, and multiple traffic violations. Graham was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office has advised KPD that additional charges related to the vehicle theft are forthcoming.
