A man already incarcerated at the Lenoir County Jail received an additional felony charge on Thursday of selling a vehicle that wasn’t his.
On December 20, 2024, at approximately 11:00 PM, Kinston Police Department's B-Squad responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was left running while the driver briefly entered a store. Upon returning, the driver discovered the vehicle had been stolen.
On Sunday, November 17, 2024, at approximately 6:00 a.m., KPD's D-Squad officers attempted to initiate a vehicle stop on Highway 70. The driver of the vehicle, sped away as officers made their approach. The pursuit ensued when the suspect drove over a ditch and fled on foot near Lenoir Community College.
On Friday, July 5, 2024, A-Squad Officers received information related to a stolen vehicle being driven around Kinston. The vehicle had previously been reported stolen to Green County Sheriff's Office. Officers located the vehicle on the 1500 block of Dr. MLK Jr Blvd and made contact with the driver, (17 year old juvenile from Kinston) and took him into custody. With the assistance of Green County Sheriff's Office, the juvenile was transported to Green County and released to a parent.
D-Squad received information that a stolen vehicle was traveling on Vernon Avenue. Officers observed the vehicle and confirmed it was stolen from Virginia. The officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made the following arrest:
