Magic Mile Media announces Social Media Summit 2025 in Kinston

Magic Mile Media, in partnership with Lenoir Community College’s Small Business Center and Visit Kinston, has announced the Social Media Summit 2025 (SMS2025), scheduled for Friday, January 31, 2025, in Kinston.

“Our number goal is for every attendee to walk away from the summit itching to get to work that following Monday morning with more opportunities for growth than ever before,” said Magic Mile Media President BJ Murphy. “This will be a career-defining moment for business owners, educators, marketers, HR managers and operations professionals. The knowledge they’ll gain in eight hours will blow away any Masterclass or online certification program.”

The one-day summit will focus on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in social media marketing, guided by the theme “AI + Social: Innovate | Automate | Dominate.”

The event will feature insights into how AI is transforming content creation, audience engagement, and marketing strategies.

Featured speakers and panelists

Austin Armstrong (Durham, NC) - CEO of the AI startup Syllaby and host of the BusinessTok podcast, will be a keynote speaker at the summit. A seasoned digital marketer, Armstrong has used TikTok to grow his business’s revenue and expand his social media following across platforms. He emphasizes consistency as the key to success.

Jason Michael Perry (Baltimore, MD) - A Fractional Chief AI Officer, will share his expertise in applying AI to innovation and marketing. Perry, known for hosting the AI-focused event AI in A Minor with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, brings decades of experience in tech solutions for businesses of all sizes. The first 50 Early Bird Registrations will be given a copy of his soon-to-be-published book, “The AI Evolution.”

Paige Lord (Charlotte, NC) - Founder of Just AI Media, brings her expertise as an AI ethicist and advocate to the summit. With experience at leading tech companies like GitHub and Microsoft, Lord simplifies complex AI and policy topics through her podcast, newsletter, and social media platforms. Her work focuses on advancing responsible AI, enhancing digital literacy, and fostering human flourishing, empowering organizations and communities to navigate the future of technology ethically and effectively.

Dr. Lane Freeman (Rocky Mount, NC) - An AI consultant and speaker, specializes in using generative AI to streamline business operations and create impactful marketing materials. Freeman’s focus on ethical innovation equips teams with strategies to maximize AI’s potential.

Scott Kelly (Buies Creek, NC) - Director of Entrepreneurship at Campbell University, combines his academic and professional experience to bridge connections between universities and regional businesses. Kelly’s entrepreneurial insights will add depth to discussions on education and innovation.

Dr. Christine Kowalczyk (Greenville, NC) - A marketing professor at East Carolina University, brings expertise in branding, celebrity endorsements, and advertising. Her research and teaching focus on understanding how these areas influence consumer behavior and public policy.

Kaylah Blount (Kinston, NC) - A Kinston-based social media influencer and educator, Blount has built a global following of over 300,000. Her in education and leadership, coupled with collaborations with major brands, demonstrates her ability to inspire audiences and foster engagement.

Scott and Ashley Mason (Raleigh, NC) - Digital marketers and travel influencers, will share their experiences creating content for businesses while exploring the world. The duo combines travel insights with expertise in promoting local brands.

Austin Carroll (Durham, NC) - CEO of the startup Warrant and an adjunct professor at Duke University, will discuss her innovative approach to marketing compliance for regulated industries. Carroll, also a published author, brings a unique perspective to combining creativity and strategy.
