Kinston man arrested after firing shots and fleeing scene

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, at approximately 2:57 AM, officers from A-Squad responded to the 800 block of Tulip Lane after receiving a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party, who identified Reginald Williams, 45, of Kinston, as the individual who discharged a firearm inside the residence before fleeing the scene.

Officers secured the crime scene and continued their investigation. Around 3:40 AM, Williams returned to the area but fled once he saw law enforcement approaching. A brief foot pursuit ensued, and Williams was apprehended shortly after.

Williams was charged with felony discharging a firearm into occupied property and resisting a public officer. He is currently in custody under a secured bond.
