Cooper announces grant to InfinityLink Communications for HQ relocation to Lenoir County
Relocation of their headquarters and expansion project to create an additional 51 well-paying jobs in Lenoir County.
Kinston, NC - Governor Roy Cooper announced today that InfinityLink Communications, a Wired Telecommunications Carrier, has been awarded a grant from the State's Building Reuse Program. Earlier in the day, the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) granted Lenoir County's request for $450,000 to support relocating InfinityLink Communications' headquarters to a facility within the Highway 70 West Industrial Park.
This grant positions InfinityLink Communications to transition its headquarters to a larger facility and extend its service capabilities by providing high-speed fiber internet to over 17,000 addresses within Lenoir County. As a consequential outcome, this initiative is projected to generate 51 well-paying new jobs and stimulate an investment of $4,100,000 over the next three years, thereby contributing to the growth of the local Lenoir County economy.
The County appreciates the support from the State and Greene County in fostering this strategic relocation and expansion project. This collaboration is anticipated to fortify our local business landscape, enhance technological infrastructure, and fortify our region's position as a hub for economic growth.
"I am very grateful to have had the support of so many, particularly the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority and the Lenoir County Commissioners, in our effort to relocate our headquarters to Lenoir County. Our relocation and installation of more than 700 miles of fiber optic cable will bring 10 gig internet service, telephone, and television services to more than 17,000 homes and businesses in Lenoir County. This investment in infrastructure will bring reliability, and internet speeds up to 10 times faster than other providers. We look forward to providing this vital service to areas of the County that have never had that opportunity," - Jeremy Rich, Owner of InfinityLink Communications.
"I am thankful for every single job that comes to the East. InfinityLink Communications continues to exceed growth expectations, and that is very good for the people of eastern North Carolina." - Senator Jim Perry.
"I am thrilled to witness the growth and expansion of InfinityLink Communications in Lenoir County. This strategic relocation enhances our technological landscape, empowering our community with enhanced digital access, and brings forth valuable job opportunities, fostering economic prosperity and development. I am confident that this decision will benefit the company and our local community immensely, paving the way for a brighter future." – Representative Chris Humphrey.
"We are thankful for the continued investments by InfinityLink in Lenoir County. We are honored to partner with them to locate the headquarters of a growing telecommunications company in our community," – Linda Rouse Sutton, Chairman of the Lenoir County Board of Commissioners.
"We congratulate InfinityLink Communications for the success that has led to this exciting expansion," - Mark Pope, President of the NC Global TransPark Economic Development Region. "Their growth reflects our optimism about the appeal of Lenoir County as a destination for job creation and business development. Thanks to our State and local partners for their hard work embracing this opportunity."
Partnering with the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the EDPNC on this project were the North Carolina General Assembly, Lenoir County, Greene County, and the North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region.
