Pink Hill hosts 7th annual family-friendly EggStravaganza Festival

Pink Hill is gearing up for its 7th annual EggStravaganza, a family-friendly Easter event that promises a day filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit. This year, the EggStravaganza, scheduled for March 23rd from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 201 Jones Avenue, Pink Hill, is set to be a full-fledged festival, building on the success of previous years.

Dr. Jennifer Murphy, a member of the Pink Hill Event Committee, expressed excitement about the upcoming event, saying, "We will have pony rides, a petting zoo, gaming truck, bouncy houses, egg train, magician, balloon twisting, and a face painter—all free, plus an egg hunt divided by age groups." The egg hunts will be organized for children aged 0-3, 4-6, and 7-10, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

The festival, which is free to attend unless purchases are made from vendors, will feature an array of attractions to entertain attendees of all ages.

According to Murphy, "We will have 10 different food trucks to feed any appetite. We will also have close to 30 vendors ranging from homegrown foodstuffs to woodworking, handmade crafts, and jewelry. We have very talented vendors!"

In an innovative twist, the event will also host its first-ever adult egg hunt, "Easter Bunny After Dark," for those 21 and older. The adult egg hunt, taking place the same evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tower 110 (110 West Broadway St, Pink Hill), offers a unique experience with a ticket price of $20 per person.

"This ticket includes two drink tickets, live music, and the chance to find two glow-in-the-dark eggs, each containing prizes ranging from cash to lottery tickets, to alcohol, to prizes from businesses," Murphy explained. She reassured participants that "each egg will have a minimum of $10 worth of prizes, so you will get your $20 back in some way."

The Pink Hill Festival Committee, comprised of four women appointed by former Mayor Mike Hill, aims to use these festivals to showcase the town's offerings and foster community engagement. Proceeds from the adult egg hunt will be used to expand future festivals and enhance various areas of Pink Hill. With all children's activities at the EggStravaganza being free, the event promises an inclusive day of fun for everyone, emphasizing the town's commitment to giving back to the community.
