Kinston man, 21, arrested on drug charges after LCSO chase

A 21-year-old Kinston man was arrested Monday on drug charges following a brief chase by Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Xavier Tyrique Mitchell, 21, of Kinston, was driving in Pink Hill around 6 p.m. Monday when a LCSO narcotics unit attempted to conduct a vehicle stop. After Mitchell started a brief pursuit, he was stopped and placed into custody for the following charges:

·      Felony possession of Schedule I

·      Simple possession of Schedule VI

·      Simple possession of Schedule IV

·      Misdemeanor flee/eluding arrest

Mitchell was placed into the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
