Annual Special Olympics games kick off at Kinston High School
The Lenoir County Special Olympics took place at Kinston High School on Friday, following a reschedule due to inclement weather.
The event, open to individuals with intellectual disabilities aged 8 and above, featured an ideal weather backdrop. Prior to the games, local entertainer Flimsy the Clown provided entertainment, leading a parade of participant athletes.
Among the participating schools were Banks Elementary School, Contentnea-Savannah K-8, EB Frink Middle School, Kinston High School, La Grange Elementary School, Moss Hill Elementary School, North Lenoir High School, Northeast Elementary School, Northwest Elementary School, Pink Hill Elementary School, Rochelle Middle School, South Lenoir High School, Southeast Elementary School, Southwood Elementary School, and Woodington Middle School.
