Obituary: Gregory Allen Dail

Gregory Allen Dail, 69, of North Topsail Beach, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Dail. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Rachel, and their son, Kieran, of the home; his mother, Dorothy Gaskins; sister, Deborah Hood and husband, Melvin; brother, Clifton Dail and wife, Casey, all of Kinston,; father in law, Bob Estes and wife, Angi, of Apex; along with many nieces, cousins, and special friends.

Greg was born and raised in Kinston, where he attended Kinston High School and then served in the US Army, stationed in Italy. Upon his return he attended NC State University, graduating with a degree in Political Science and becoming a lifelong proud Wolfpacker.

Greg met his future wife, Rachel, while working in Ireland. Upon returning to America, they made their home in Johnston County for many years before relocating to North Topsail Beach.

Greg loved his family, his dogs, classic rock, and a cold drink on his deck by the ocean. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home in Kinston.
