Obituary: Melissa Kay Sanderson

Melissa Kay Sanderson, 40, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, at 7PM at Sandy Bottom Baptist Church, 4568 NC-55, Kinston, NC 28504. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

To know Melissa was to love her. She had a spirit and personality that would light up a room and brighten your day. Melissa was funny, youthful, loving, caring, giving, and the devotion she portrayed best describes the traits she consistently showed. She loved her life, her husband, children, and her family. Melissa was a constant reminder that no matter what one may face there was always hope and faith. She made this world a better place and each of us a better person. Melissa will be greatly missed.

Melissa is survived by her husband, Stephen; her children, Natalie and Gavin of the home; father, Horace Croom, Jr. and his wife, Judy; two brothers, Gregory Croom and wife Crystal, Timothy Croom and wife, Jennifer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Ainsley Stox, Jodie Croom, James and Kevin Wallace, and Ethan Croom all of Kinston.
