Kinston Police offer free summer camp for youth in Lenoir County

The Kinston Police Department will hold a free camp this summer for youth between 11 and 17 who are Kinston or Lenoir County residents. Camp Inspire will be held June 26th through June 28th from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

Young people will participate in hands-on investigations, visit the crime lab, learn about the SWAT team, meet our canine officers, and visit the 911 center, fire department, and courthouse.

This year is the Police Department's second year holding Camp Inspire. "Camp Inspire is a great opportunity for young people who might be interested in a career in law enforcement. Through department exposure, hands-on learning, and community engagement, we are building the foundation of future law enforcement officers," states Sargeant J. Moody, Hiring Coordinator.

Applications are available online on the Department's Facebook page. Paper applications are available at the police department. The deadline for applications is June 19th.  For more information,  email Dewayne Craft at dewayne.craft@kinstonnc.gov.
