Cash earns North Carolina Certified Economic Developer Certification

Trey Cash, Economic Development Director, has achieved the status of North Carolina Certified Economic Developer.

This accomplishment marks a milestone for Greene County, as it is the first instance of having a North Carolina Certified Economic Developer on our staff. Mr. Cash’s certification is administered by the North Carolina Economic Development Association (NCEDA) in partnership with East Carolina University (ECU). Currently, there are less than 75 North Carolina Certified Economic Developers statewide.

The North Carolina Certified Economic Developer Program is a demanding and comprehensive course, requiring a substantial number of contact hours of instruction and culminating in a capstone project. The curriculum covers areas such as retention and expansion, innovation and entrepreneurship, attraction, data analytics, organization and operation, and the legal framework.
