Convicted felon with firearm flees from officers
On Monday, July 1, 2024, Officers observed Eddie Mills (50 of Kinston) driving erratically on N Rochelle Blvd and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Mills refused to stop and led officers on a short vehicle pursuit before stopping on Cypress Street. Once the vehicle stopped, Mills fled on foot. Officers were able to apprehend Mills and took him into custody. In addition to several unrelated warrants, Mills was charged with the following and placed in the LC Jail under a secured bond:
-Possession of a Firearm by Felon
-Felony Flee to Elude
-Resisting a Public Officer
