Obituary: Robert (Bob) Lee Norville
Robert (Bob) Lee Norville, 94, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 25, 2024. He was born in Edgecombe County to the late Jimmy and Pattie Norville.
A graveside service will be held at Pinelawn Memorial Park on Sunday, July 28th at 3pm. The family is welcoming friends at the home of Robbie and Debbie Norville.
Bob married the love of his life, Peggy Felton, in 1951 and enjoyed 64 beautiful years until her passing in 2015. After being married, he was called to active duty in the U.S. Army serving for two years in Holland and Germany. Upon his return, Bob and Peggy moved to Kinston where they both worked for DuPont. Bob was a master mechanic specializing in installing, repairing and maintaining conveyor systems. He retired from DuPont in 1987 and started fishing full-time with his buddy, Ernie Foster. When he wasn’t fishing, he enjoyed gardening and repairing small engines for friends and neighbors.
Bob was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church and served faithfully as a youth leader, choir member, and a deacon. He loved the Lord and made sure that his family was worshipping each Wednesday and Sunday.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Robbie and wife, Debbie; grandson, Will Norville and wife, Madison; great grandson, Declan Norville; sister-in-law, Gloria Felton; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Peggy; daughter, Gwen Norville; brothers, James Norville and Albert Norville.
The family would like to thank the loving and compassionate ladies at Magnolia Cottage who loved Bob and cared for him like he was their dad. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Folds of Honor.
