KPD Investigates Larceny by Employee at Smithfield Chicken & BBQ

On April 4, 2024, officers from the Kinston Police Department responded to Smithfield Chicken & BBQ following a report of larceny involving Haley Walton, a 32-year-old resident of Jacksonville, NC. Walton, who was the manager of the restaurant, allegedly failed to make bank deposits.

The case was transferred to the KPD Investigation Division for further follow-up. After a thorough investigation, warrants were obtained for Walton, charging her with two counts of Larceny by Employee and two counts of Embezzlement.
