Evelyn Dove-Coleman: A Smart Prediction
Deborah Lott from Charlotte, North Carolina is very smart. She lives in Atlanta now, but we speak often. She was my little pledge-sister when she joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill way back in the 1970's. She was smart then, and she is smart now.
I do not know her political registration because I have never asked her that. We talk about all parties and all persuasions and everything. So, when CNN reported that U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris had narrowed down her pick for a running mate to six people, I asked Deborah who she thought would be the selection. She accurately predicted Tim Walz to me.
I had to look him up. My sister, also named Deborah, said he looks my age because he has cold white hair. I color my hair every month, so it is a little harder to guess my actual age. It's even harder because I will still only fess-up to age "30ish." But Tim Walz is just 60.
He grew up on a farm like I did. He is a Veteran, a former high school teacher, a former football coach, a former Congressman and former Governor of Minnesota. Now, he is running for Vice President of the United States of America to help reinstate joy in America. I remember when my late dad and uncle used to socialize with a hunt club, and they preached and practiced gun safety. Tim Walz also believes in gun safety as well as the safety of our school children.
I am glad to have a friend and Soror who reads broadly and researches intensively to talk to and keep me up on current events.
