Kinston Police investigating shooting incident

On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at approximately 11:21 p.m., officers from the Kinston Police Department responded to a report of a gunshot victim at the 15 building of Mitchell Wooten complex. Upon arrival, officers found Sylvester Arrington, 36, of Kinston, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Arrington, who is not a resident of the Mitchell Wooten, was initially transported to UNC Lenoir and later airlifted to ECU Health for further treatment. He is currently receiving care for serious injuries.

The Kinston Police Department is actively investigating this incident. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
