Traffic stop leads to DWI, narcotic, and firearm arrest

On Friday, September 27, 2024, at approximately 12:23 PM, officers from A-Squad responded to a report of a careless and reckless driver on Highway 70. Upon locating the vehicle, officers initiated a traffic stop involving the driver, identified as Richard White Jr., 39, of Broadway, NC.

During the stop, officers observed clear signs of impairment and conducted a Driving While Impaired (DWI) investigation. Their findings included an open container of alcohol and a concealed firearm within the vehicle. Further investigation revealed over 30 grams of marijuana, leading to the following charges against White:

-DWI

-Possession With Intent to Sell/Deliver Schedule VI Controlled Substance

-Maintaining a Vehicle for Controlled Substance

-Carrying a Concealed Firearm

In addition to these charges, White received multiple citations for various motor vehicle law violations.
