LCSO: Traffic stop leads to arrests, felony charges

Two Kinston residents were arrested Wednesday following a traffic stop by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office’s Street Crimes and Ready Response (SCARR).

John Marchand, 38, and Gina Luker, 45, were stopped by SCARR unit detectives for an equipment violation while the detectives were conducting proactive enforcement in the area of U.S. 258 North. During the stop, the detectives established probable cause for a search and located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Marchand and Luker were arrested and booked into the Lenoir County Jail on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Both received no bonds due to being out on pretrial release for previous charges.
