Mary's Kitchen announces Richard Crumbacker as new Executive Director
Mary’s Kitchen, a vital nonprofit serving those in need, has announced that Richard Crumbacker will be its next Executive Director. He will be shadowing current Executive Director Jim Godfrey over the next month before officially stepping into the role upon Godfrey’s retirement.
The Board of Directors shared the news on social media, celebrating Crumbacker’s appointment and recognizing Godfrey’s years of dedication.
“I’m glad to have been given the opportunity to continue growing a wonderful organization, following in the footsteps of the great work Jim Godfrey has done during his time as Executive Director of Mary’s Kitchen,” said Crumbacker.
Mary’s Kitchen, located at 110 N. Independence Street in downtown Kinston, has been providing daily meals to those in need since 1984. Founded by the Rev. Dr. John Russell, then Rector of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, the kitchen serves lunch seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Under Godfrey’s leadership, the organization has undergone significant renovations to better serve the community. As he prepares for retirement, both the Board of Directors and the Kinston community are expressing their gratitude for his service.
Community members are encouraged to congratulate and welcome Crumbacker as he steps into his new role, while also thanking Godfrey for his years of dedication to Mary’s Kitchen.
