Margo Harper, from South Lenoir High School, has been selected as a Morehead-Cain Impact Educator for 2025. This initiative, launched in 2023, honors K-12 educators who have significantly influenced high school students' leadership and personal development. The recognition was announced at the Lenoir County Public Schools Board of Education meeting on February 3rd. According to Superintendent Williams, the award celebrates educators "who are shaping tomorrow's change makers, recognized by exceptional high school seniors for their positive influence on the students lives and development."

Although Harper was not present at the meeting, Williams stated that the district will get her a certificate. He said that she was "nominated by our young people and selected for her contribution to our young people and to our school system.”
