Snow Hill man arrested in stolen vehicle case
On March 7, 2025, at approximately 12:57 a.m., officers from the Kinston Police Department’s B-Squad conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle. The vehicle had been reported stolen to KPD on July 17, 2024.
The driver, Montaris Johnson, 26, of Snow Hill, was taken into custody without incident. Johnson was previously identified as a suspect in the original investigation, and detectives had obtained multiple warrants for his arrest, including:
Forgery
Identity Theft
Trafficking Stolen Identities (2 counts)
Obtaining Property by False Pretenses
Felony Conspiracy (2 counts)
Aiding & Abetting Forgery
Misdemeanor Conspiracy (2 counts)
Felony Aiding & Abetting
Larceny of Chose in Action (3 counts)
Possession of Stolen Goods (3 counts)
Accessing Computers (3 counts)
Forgery of an Instrument
Johnson was transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where he was booked under a secured bond.
