Two arrested in Lenoir County proactive enforcement operation

A proactive enforcement operation in Lenoir County that included the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office SCARR (Street Crimes and Ready Response) unit, along with the LCSO’s Narcotics and General Investigations Division (GID), resulted in the arrest of two people on Thursday.

During the operation, a vehicle stop was conducted on Jamie Albritton, 38, of Pink Hill. Detectives conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located methamphetamine consistent with street level narcotics sales.

Albritton was arrested and charged with:

·      Felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance

·      Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia

·      Misdemeanor possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance

Albritton was also served with an outstanding order for arrest (OFA) for child support. She was booked into the Lenoir County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond and a $1,500 cash bond for the child support OFA.

Also during this operation, SCARR unit detectives, along with assistance from the LCSO’s GID and the Kinston Police Department’s A-Squad, located and arrested Michael Whaley, 38, of Kinston. Whaley was wanted in Duplin County for felony breaking and entering; he also had two failure to appear charges in Lenoir County for previous felonies.

Whaley was booked into the Lenoir County Jail under a total secured bond of $60,000 for the Lenoir County charges and a no-bond integrity hold for the Duplin County charge.

“I continue to thank the residents of Lenoir County, along with our partners in law enforcement, for your continued help and support in combating drugs and criminal behavior in Lenoir County,” Lenoir County Sheriff Jackie Rogers said.
