Update: Death investigation underway near Academy Heights
Update:
“We believe this was an isolated incident. At this time, it remains under active investigation. There is no indication of an ongoing threat to the general public. Detectives are treating the case as a homicide, pending the results of the medical examiner’s report.,” said Sgt. Biggins.
Case Update:
The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Bradly Brady of Hickory, North Carolina. At the time of the incident, Bradley was staying at his secondary residence in Kinston. The investigation remains ongoing.
Update 4/9/2025 9:52 am:
On Wednesday, April 9, 2024, at approximately 7:00 AM, Kinston Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a subject that was possibly shot at 2130 Apt. 10 Rosa Vista Rd.
Upon arrival officers located a 45 year old male from Hickory NC lying outside of the apartment with an unknown injury. The subject was unresponsive and EMS pronounced him dead on scene.
Kinston Police Department Detectives and Crime Scene personnel responded and were able to determine that the victim had succumbed to injuries from a stab wound to the chest. Detectives are actively conducting further investigation into the incident.
The Kinston Police Department places the highest priority on investigating crimes of violence perpetrated in our city. We will investigate such cases without compromise for crime and continue to seek assistance from the community we proudly serve.
