Traffic stop leads to drug arrests
On May 30, 2025, at 11:05 a.m., officers from KPD’s D-Squad conducted a traffic stop on Highway 70 West. The driver, Michael Bridgers Jr., 26, of Macclesfield, NC, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana after K9 Kilo assisted in a vehicle search.
Bridgers was arrested and charged with:
• Possession With Intent to Sell/Deliver Marijuana
• Sell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance
• Felony Possession of Cocaine
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia
A passenger, Robert Cannon, 33, also of Macclesfield, was arrested and charged with:
• Possession of Methamphetamine
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Both individuals were transported to the Lenoir County Jail and are being held under secured bonds.
