Typically, when you stop into the Community Council for the Arts, you’re greeted with a quiet space filled with beautiful artwork. This week, the gallery was filled with a different type of art as well. 5th grade students from Banks Elementary and a few students from E.B. Frink Middle School got to perform at the Arts council as part of the Traditional Arts Programs for Students grant.
Classes that connect hand claps, leg kicks and heel clicks had Woodington Middle School students stretching their minds as well as their muscles this week.
This coming weekend, an exceptional group of Eagles will land in Kinston. The Savannah High School Alumni and Friends Association will hold its meeting beginning on Sept. 2, 2022. Beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, the association will host a meet-and-greet at the Community Council for the Arts.
Two upcoming local holiday parades will be live streamed by Neuse News. On Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 6:00 pm, Neuse News will live stream the first-ever Deep Run Christmas Parade. And on December 4, 2021 at 4:30 pm Neuse News will live stream the Light the Night Kinston Christmas Parade.

The Community Council for the Arts and the Kinston Community Center have teamed up for the annual Holly Jolly Holiday show featuring local vendors. The event will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 10:00 am through 6:00 pm and Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 10:00 am through 4:00 pm at the Kinston Community Center.
The Community Council for the Arts presents their Fall Gala “Putting On The Ritz” this Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 7pm until 11pm. The theme is a speakeasy and guests are invited to dress to impress, if they wish.
On July 29, 2021, at 5:30 pm there will be a "Turning on the Lights" sculpture dedication going on at the Kinston Arts Center. The sculptures are collectively called "Rising Currents".

The Board of Directors of the Community Council for the Arts regret to announce the continued closure of the Arts Center. This action is anticipated to last at least through the Labor Day weekend.
