On Monday, December 19, 2022, the Greene County Board of Education held their first meeting with its new members. As is done after every election, the board “reorganizes” itself by electing Chairman and Vice Chairman. This year was the first time in a long time that Pat Adams would not be chosen to serve as the board chair as she lost her seat in the general election.
Snow HIll - At their regular board meeting on Monday, December 19, 2022 the Greene County Board of Education recognized their monthly Student Spotlight awardees. This month they were all chosen from West Greene Elementary School. This month’s honorees were all recognized for exceptional citizenship, academics, and all around excellence inside and outside of the classroom.
The Greene County Board of Education held a dedication ceremony of the Jasper Barfield, Jr. Boardroom. In attendance were members of the Greene County leadership, Senator Don Davis, and Jasper Barfield, Jr., and members of his family.
With a unanimous vote, The Greene County Board of Education selected Dr. Frank Creech as the next superintendent at their meeting this evening. An experienced education leader, Dr. Creech will succeed outgoing superintendent, Dr. Patrick Miller, and will assume responsibilities on July 1, 2022.
At their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday night, the Greene County School Board voted to move the district to Mask Optional following Christmas Break.
The Greene County Board of Education met at their regular meeting on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the Greene County Tech Center. During the meeting, several community members addressed the board in regard to Greene Early College Students being eligible for sports a Greene Central and on the mask mandate at all schools.
