The 2024 Lenoir Hospital Foundation Superball Golf Tournament was a huge success. On October 17th, 25 teams enjoyed a sunny, cool day of golf at the Kinston Country Club. A HUGE thank you to the 91 businesses and individuals who supported this 26th annual superball golf tournament.

Lenoir Hospital Foundation recently provided funding to support five recipients with scholarships and an award, assisting with college and continuing education for individuals pursuing pathways for healthcare careers and personal growth.
Lenoir Hospital Foundation recently provided $71,405 for 2023 funding to support UNC Health Lenoir projects. Seven special projects were funded enhancing patient and overall community health.
Friends and supporters along with the family of Gary E. Black recently provided $25,000 in donations that will permanently endow the Gary E. Black Memorial Impact Award. This initiates an annual award within the Lenoir Hospital Foundation to support the cost of continuing education for one non-clinical staff member of UNC Health Lenoir.
Lenoir Hospital Foundation recently provided $95,387 for 2022 funding to support UNC Lenoir Health Care projects. “Our goal is to enhance the work of our hospital. We select projects that are meaningful to the care we provide in our own community”, said Margaret Williams, Foundation Board Chairman.
Ms. Charmaine Hansel, a senior nursing student at LCC is the 2021 recipient of both the Stackhouse Memorial Nursing Scholarship and the Cindy A. Jones Nursing Memorial Scholarship through the Lenoir Hospital Foundation. Both scholarships provide financial assistance to individuals actively enrolled in a nursing program and who have completed an application and then presented for review and selection by the UNC Lenoir nursing selection committee.

The Pink is the Link team had a great walk October 24. They had 62 walkers, according to Tammy Everett, and raised $2,400 for the Angel Fund, a fund in the Lenoir Hospital Foundation that supports cancer patients that are struggling financially.
A nurse’s death in 2004 led first to the creation of a nursing scholarship in her name. Fifteen years later it inspired one of her sons, Jared, to become a bone-marrow donor to help a stranger combat a type of blood cancer, the disease that took his mother’s life.
