Lions Making Strides 2 Fight Diabetes is set to hold it’s 5th annual “STRIDES” Rockin’ Walk-A-Thon for Diabetes Awareness to raise awareness and funds for diabetes patients. The Lions Club initiative started in Lions International as one of five Lions initiatives and has now spread to throughout the world
October 14, 2021, was World Sight Day 2021, and October is Blindness Awareness Month. Lion’s Industries for the Blind, Inc. honored its legally blind and blind employees in a celebration.
The Kinston Host Lions Club is having a yard sale at Lions Industries for the Blind, Inc. (4126 Berkeley Ave in Kinston) on Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7 from 7 AM until Noon each day. The proceeds from the yard sale will be used to fund the 2020 VIP (Visually Impaired Persons) Christmas Party which is hosted in cooperation between the Ram Neuse Lions Club and Kinston Host Lions Club. The annual VIP Christmas Party provides great food and entertainment for sight-impaired individuals of all ages throughout our community.
The third annual Rockin’ Walk-A-Thon takes place March 30 at the Kinston Community Center. All proceeds go toward diabetes awareness and children affected by the disease.
