National History Day® (NHD) is proud to announce the teachers honored as the 2024 Patricia Behring Teacher of the Year nominees. Each NHD affiliate may nominate one middle school teacher and one high school teacher per year for this prestigious award. In addition to celebrating outstanding history scholarship and innovative classroom instruction, the award comes with a $10,000 cash prize.

The Service Club at Eastern Correctional Institution presented a $1,000 to the Lenoir Community College Foundation Scholarship Program.
Kinston High’s Kyonna Kelly chosen for selective Greenhouse Scholarship
Kyonna Kelly relished being in the backcourt, leading the Kinston High School women’s team from her point guard position; but, otherwise, the graduating senior prefers the back row, out of the public eye. She’s had to step up her public relations game since being named a winner of the selective Greenhouse Scholarship.
