Announcement: Lenoir County Request For Proposals For Legal Services
This request for proposals (RFP) is to contract for legal services to be provided to Lenoir County beginning in July 2023 (for fiscal year 2023/2024), subject to review and approval, continuing forward each subsequent fiscal year upon contract renewal. Legal services requested are primarily in the field of local government law, contracts, real estate and property law, and land use regulation and enforcement.
Lenoir County Public Schools is requesting professional design consultant services to provide full service for the design and construction administration of constructing an additional entrance, driveway, and parking lot at Pink Hill Elementary School. Submit qualifications by 4 p.m. on March 1, 2023. The official selection of the design consultant and approval will be determined following the receipt of proposals.

The Lenoir County Health Department received confirmation from the North Carolina State Laboratory that a fox has tested positive for rabies. The animal was located in the northern part of the county in the Paul’s Path area. In January, a rabid raccoon was found in southern Lenoir County.
A woman was arrested Thursday afternoon after allegedly shooting at a man during a road rage incident. Gayle Williams, 47, of Hobgood, was arrested at the scene and later placed in Lenoir County Jail after being charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. “I would like to thank members of the Grifton Police Department for locating and safely detaining Ms. Williams,” Lenoir County Sheriff Jackie Rogers said. “Their actions helped prevent a tragic ending to this unnecessary event.”
