Nicole C. Croom, 79, of Kinston went to be with her Lord on Monday, February 6, 2023, at UNC Lenoir Health Care. A celebration of Nicole’s life will be held on Saturday, March 4, at 11:00 a.m., at Faith Fellowship Church, with visitation following the service.

In Pink Hill, a vote may not always count. Like 56% of the voters in North Carolina who wanted voter ID in 2018, the majority of Pink Hill voters who said yes to the Mixed Beverage Referendum had their power taken away.

LCC Graphic Students Awarded PICA Scholarships
Two Lenoir Community College graphic students, Gregory Cox and Jonah Daniels, were recently awarded scholarships from the Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA). Jon Kyle Bennett was arrested Saturday and charged with statutory rape of a person who is 13-, 14- or 15-years-old by a defendant who is at least 6 years older than the victim.

On Tuesday morning, Feb. 21, I was blessed to be able to attend the Pastors Appreciation Breakfast sponsored by the Kinston Camp of Gideons International. The breakfast allows the Gideons to express appreciation for the support of local churches and to update those attending on the work of the Gideons both here at home and around the world.
