Nancy Lee Criss Robey, 89, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. A service of love and remembrance will be held at Rouse Funeral Home on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Seth Jones officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Matilda The Musical will grace the Turner Stage at Lenoir Community College this coming July. The musical's narrative centers on Matilda Wormwood, a precocious 5-year-old girl with the gift of telekinesis. She loves reading, overcomes obstacles caused by her family and school, and helps her teacher reclaim her life.

The North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) has approved 11 grant requests to local governments totaling $4,478,850, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The requests include commitments to create a total of 383 jobs, 173 of which were previously announced. The public investment in these projects will attract more than $91 million in private investment.

Greene County SHIIP Volunteers were recognized for their volunteer service on June 13th. In 2022, SHIIP Volunteers served 220 Greene County Residents with an estimated cost savings of $114,786.
