Greene County Schools releases statement on school closure, supplemental resources and nutrition

Greene Central High School Principal Patrick Greene shared the following statement this afternoon:

Greene County Schools will be closed beginning Monday, March 16 through at least Friday, March 27.

Staff is working to provide supplemental resources and activities that will help students remain engaged in learning while the schools are closed. It will take a couple of days to finalize plans. Plans will be shared with you as soon as possible on how to access the various learning opportunities during the closure.

Staff is also working on a plan to continue child nutrition at selected locations during the closure. We will communicate this information to you as soon as possible.

It is possible that the closure may extend longer than two weeks as this is a rapidly changing situation. We are in constant contact with our county and state health partners and decisions are made with the best information we have at that time.

We appreciate your support, patience and cooperation during this difficult time. Thank you.
