Down East Wood Ducks to host youth baseball camp on Monday, July 27
The Down East Wood Ducks will host a Youth Baseball Camp, presented by Farmer-N-Dell Learning Center, on Monday, July 27 for youth ages 7-13 years old.
The Youth Baseball Camp will offer a morning session from 8 am-12 pm and an afternoon session from 1 pm-5 pm. Each session is $100 per participant and includes instructions on infield, outfield, pitching, catching and hitting.
The instructors will include Professional, College and local High School coaches with over 50 years of coaching experience to their credit. The camp staff includes Steve Mintz, Pitching Coach of the Down East Wood Ducks; Rob Watt, Head Baseball Coach at the University of Mount Olive; Casey Hodges, Assistant Baseball Coach at the University of Mount Olive; Jason Sherrer, Assistant Coach at the University of Mount Olive; Jackson Massey, North Lenoir High School Baseball Coach and David Combs, South Lenoir High School Baseball Coach.
As part of the Wood Ducks COVID-19 event protocol, each child is responsible for bringing their own equipment to the camp (i.e. bat, glove, cap, catching equipment if applicable). Each session will be limited in space to not only help with one on one instruction time but also for social distancing. Parents will be required to sign a waiver for the participant and themselves prior to entering the Grainger Stadium.
Parents may register their children by calling John McCormick at 252-686-5154 or emailing John at jmccormick@woodducksbaseball.com. The Wood Ducks expect the camps to fill up in advance.
