Police searching for suspect in cigarette thefts

On August 22, 2020, officers responded to the Kangaroo (convenience store) on W. Vernon Ave. in reference to a larceny of cartons of cigarettes. During that time, it was discovered that the suspect entered the store and when the clerk handed him the cigarettes he snatched then from the counter and fled the area.

A short time later the same suspect went into the Murphy’s Express (convenience store) and stole several cartons from behind the counter and fled out the rear exit. The attached photograph is of the unknown suspect and the vehicle involved.
